Before you book your next client, before you run your next ad, before you redesign your website, I want you to answer one question: What is your intent? Not your goal. Not your revenue target. Your intent. Why do you do this work? What transformation are you truly committed to delivering? Because until you can answer that with absolute clarity, everything else in your practice will feel harder than it needs to be.
I recorded this video because clarity of purpose is the foundation that everything else in your practice gets built on. Your pricing, your marketing, your client experience, even your willingness to offer a guarantee, all of it flows from knowing exactly why you show up every day and what you are here to accomplish.
Most therapists I coach come to me with goals. They want more clients. They want higher revenue. They want a full schedule. Those are perfectly valid goals, but they are not the same as intent. Intent is deeper. Intent is about the change you want to create in the world, one client at a time.
My intent at Diamond Pain Relief and Wellness has always been to give people back the freedom that chronic pain has stolen from them. Not just reduce their symptoms. Not just make them comfortable. Give them back their lives. That clarity has driven every decision I have made about my practice, from the modalities I trained in to the clients I choose to work with to the precise focus of my practice.
When you are clear about your intent, pricing becomes straightforward. You are not charging for an hour of your time. You are charging for a specific transformation. And that transformation has a value that far exceeds an hourly rate. Clients who understand the outcome you deliver will gladly invest at a higher level than clients who think they are just buying a massage or a physical therapy session.
This is why I have always encouraged therapists to charge what they are truly worth. Not because greed is good, but because undercharging actually undermines the very transformation you are trying to deliver. When clients pay more, they commit more. And when they commit more, they get better results.
Marketing from a place of clarity is effortless compared to marketing from a place of confusion. When you know exactly who you serve and exactly what transformation you provide, your website copy writes itself. Your elevator pitch becomes natural. Your social media content has direction and purpose instead of feeling random and forced.
People can feel when you are operating from genuine purpose versus when you are just trying to fill your schedule. Purpose is magnetic. It draws the right clients to you and, just as importantly, keeps the wrong ones away. That is how you build a practice that energizes you rather than drains you.
If you are not sure about your own clarity of purpose, start with this exercise. Write down the names of your five favorite clients, the ones who got amazing results and who you genuinely loved working with. Now look for the common thread. What did they all need? What did you give them that nobody else could? That thread is your purpose.
Watch the full video above for a deeper exploration of this concept, and if you are ready to build a practice around a clear sense of purpose, schedule a conversation with me. This work is some of the most rewarding coaching I do.
