After years of working with clients and collaborating with their doctors, I’ve learned that building professional relationships is one of the most powerful ways to grow your practice.

In the video above I let you listen in on a real phone call with one of my patient’s physicians.

It might feel scary to pick up the phone and introduce yourself to a doctor you’ve never met, but the benefits are worth it.

    Why call a patient’s doctor?

When a client has multiple providers, it’s important that we’re all on the same page.

I call physicians to let them know who I am and what I’m doing with our mutual patient.

I share the progress my client is making and the results they’ve enjoyed with Active Myofascial Therapy and exercise therapy.

These conversations build trust and often lead to more referrals because the doctor sees that I’m a professional partner rather than a competitor.

    How to structure the call

Here’s how I approach these calls to make them smooth and productive:

    Introduce yourself and your practice

Start by clearly stating your name and your business so the doctor knows who’s calling.

Let them know you’re working with their patient and that you’d like to share an update.

    Share results and

    Doctors care about outcomes.

Briefly explain the improvements your patient has experienced and any objective measures you can provide.

This shows that your work complements theirs and supports the patient’s overall health

    Be respectful and concise

Physicians are busy, so keep your message short and to the point.

Speak clearly and professionally and let them know you appreciate their time.

Offer to send additional information by mail or email if they’re interested.

A simple call can change your practice

In my experience, calling physicians has led to better client care and more doctor referrals.

Many doctors appreciate hearing from another provider because it reassures them that their patient is in good hands.

Even if the conversation is brief, it opens the door for future collaboration.

Ready to pick up the phone?

If you’ve been hesitant to call your clients’ doctors, I encourage you to start with just one.

Introduce yourself, share the progress you’re seeing and be polite and concise.

You might be surprised by how receptive doctors can be.

Building these relationships is one of the best ways to serve your clients and grow your practice naturally.

I’d love to hear how your calls go, so feel free to leave a comment or send me a message after you’ve tried it.
